Relax Kids in Basingstoke
Relax Kids uses relaxation techniques to help children recognise their strengths and manage their emotional journey through life. The relaxation techniques provide a toolbox of skills which can be transferred into later life. If children can learn to be calm under pressure at a young age, they stand in good stead for their adult life.

Relax Kids classes are different from any other classes as they use a unique combination of mindful games, storytelling and exercises, stretching, breathing, self massage as well as positive affirmations, visualisations, mindfulness and relaxations. The classes allow the child to have fun but also learn vital life skills that will help them for years to come. I run Relax Kids courses both in schools, preschools and nurseries.
I also offer 1-2-1/family sessions which take place in your home at a mutually convenient time. Cost for a 1-2-1/family session is £50.
Relax Kids in Schools (from pre-school to College)
My courses in schools are very popular. Most schools book me up for the whole academic year, but I have some schools who book me at different times of year (eg pre-SATs, pre-transition, post transition, pre-GCSEs). I have vast experience in working with all ages from pre-school to College.
I am happy to work in small groups of up to 10 children or with whole classes. Please contact me to discuss what you feel would benefit your setting. Sessions can take place face to face or over Zoom.

that the Assistant Senco at Burnham Copse produced as part of her Senco training. Here is a key message from that report:
“When considering the effectiveness of an intervention it is important to ask where can the impact of that intervention be seen? Teacher, child and parent testimonials have already shown that the children are not only enjoying the sessions, but are using the techniques where required, giving an observable change to behaviour and anxiety levels.”
There has also been some evidence shown through SIMS (Schools Information Management System) that Relax Kids has had a positive impact on the children that have attended the sessions. This has included an increase in attendance for some children whom anxiety was the root cause of attendance issues, as well as an increase in attainment seen in some of the phase model strands.
Burnham Copse Primary School also subsidised Relax Adults sessions to parents of children who are currently, or have attended Relax Kids sessions as a holistic approach to the mental well being of the children and families.”

I work with all year groups and adapt my lesson plans accordingly. In secondary schools I run my adult relaxation course.
My 1-2-1/Family Sessions incorporate Relax Kids, Mini Me Meditation and Story Massage. This gives families 3 different techniques that they can then build into their lives by practising the tools and techniques that I teach on a regular basis. It’s the consistency of practising what I teach that will give the benefits. My 1-2-1/Family Sessions last around an hour. These are arranged on a time/date that suit us both (and can take place after school or during the weekend/school holidays).
I trained as a Relax Kids Coach in May 2014, added Story Massage and Mini Me Yoga in 2016 and then qualified as a Children’s Yoga Teacher in March 2020. I’m married to Rob, we have 2 daughters and we live in Oakridge, Basingstoke.
I run Relax Kids courses in schools, pre-schools/nurseries/college working with ages 4-18 – and all the work I do is adapted to suit the age group I’m working with. For example in Secondary School and College I run my adult relaxation programme.
I also work on a 1-2-1 basis with families teaching tools and techniques using Relax Kids, Story Massage and Mini Me Meditation.
I’ve also written and published several children’s book – three focus on supporting children’s mental health and wellbeing through yoga, mindfulness and relaxation, one is a book of positive relaxation messages for parents to read to their child and I’ve also produced a journal of relaxation and positivity for children.
