We all lead such busy lives and quite often don’t spend time on ourselves. (I’m speaking for me here, but I’m sure most will resonate).
In the current climate perhaps we are feeling anxious, worried, overwhelmed. Maybe stressed with the situation that is totally out of our control.
Taking time out to focus on ourselves can really help with those challenging moments. With the bonus that we will learn tools and techniques that we can use ourselves in our daily lives.
How does your class work?
Each Monday evening at 8pm we log on to Zoom for the class. I do need to see you to have your video on as a condition of my insurance. In the session we start with some a mindful moment, time for us to stop, be still, be calm and start our session; we then move on to some mindfulness exercises which might include a grounding exercise, mindful listening and we spend around 10 minutes on this. We then move on to about 10 minutes of breathing practice, a few different breathing exercises that we focus on in our own time. After this, it’s time to get comfortable and enjoy a 20 minute meditation/relaxation.
Will I find the session difficult?
For some of us it’s actually quite difficult to relax, and we might have high expectations that we can actually relax easily, so I would suggest trying the session several times as it can take a while before we actually start to feel relaxed. I had someone come to my sessions for several months before she felt able to let go and fall into the relaxation.
How will it make me feel?
Hopefully relaxed! Some people feel that they sleep better after the relaxation. We’re all so different that we’ll all have different experiences. I’ve had someone coming to my class for several years and he says the relaxation sets him up for the week ahead.
How much does it cost?
While we are on lockdown and we are restricted on our activities I’m running my relaxation class through zoom. It lasts around 35-40 minutes and the cost is £3.50 per session. You can pay through my PayPal me link and I’ll send you an email with a registration form and the Zoom link.
